Focus On Life: Week 13 - Faith

Faith. When I saw that this was the theme for this week I thought, piece of cake.  I have faith.  And at this time of the year with Good Friday and Easter most people tend to be more "faithful".  But faith...what does it mean to me. That caught me off guard. I have thought about it a lot this week.

To me faith in God is number one with me. Top priority. I know God is there for me. I have faith.  I know God loves me. I have faith. I know God forgives me. I have faith. But how do you explain it? The only way I know how is that I have been on the receiving end of some miracles. And  I know without a shadow of doubt that those miracles were performed by God. That is my faith. The firm and undeniably belief in God even though I can't see him, or touch him. I CAN talk to him anytime and anywhere about anything.  And if I am quiet long enough I can hear him talk to me!

And to everyone who sent me a post last week. Thank you so much. Your prayers and thoughts were wonderful and I am happy to say this week was better.

Week 12~ Observe the Curve

This has really been a crazy week for me. The weather hasn't really done what they said it would do and has really messed up my days.  Took my son to the doctors for a check up and one of his lab test come back wonky. Even though my husband is recuperating it is a slow process and he is getting really antsy. Issues with my dad, finances, whats going on with our country....and so on and so on. I guess I have felt like I have been really thrown a curve ball this week. But I know that God is with me and he won't give me more than I can handle so I will just brush the dust off my feet from this week and start the new week with a smile and see how it goes.....

I didn't really want to put a picture of a "curve ball" though I think that is how my week has gone, so I have this tree that I see through the window by my desk. It is a large Pine Tree and I love looking at it. It has a big "curve" in it's upper trunk. So I do have some pictures of it. I would much rather share them than something depressing.  So enjoy. I love to watch how the sky and clouds move behind it. It is soothing.

Focus On Life - Week 11 The Possibilities are Endless

Wow 11 weeks and we are still going strong...who would have thought that ---- Well I guess the possibilities are endless  for all us with how we interpret what Sally ask of us...

When I tried to think of what to put in this post I knew the whole world really was open to me. But what in my life right now, am I doing that would give me endless paths of possibilities to pursue?

Well, I love taking picture of the world around me. Especially the little things, like my new little friend...

No, I don't really care for spiders, but this guy is smaller than my thumb nail, so I am not really that scared of him.  He is sitting on my computer monitor.

Or maybe a picture of  the little Chickadee bird that feeds at my feeder every day then sits on my window to say hi!

Or the cute little lady bug that was in my kitchen, they say they are good luck!

Or even MY guys, hanging together....

So I guess you could say taking pictures opens up so many many possibilities!

BUT.......I think the one right now that is the most challenging is creating beauty from the wonderful beads I received from my Bead Soup Partner - Tanya...

Now can you see all the possibilities there????

Wow. What a challenge!  And soooo many ways of being wrapped up!  It was really hard to decide.

  • I did work on my Bead Soup Designs and wrapped up a couple of pieces.
  • I did some legal work for my dad and go it wrapped up.
  • It has been cold here in Florida, yes we do get cold here now and again, so we wrapped up our plants for a few days to protect them.

BUT... the biggest wrapped up of all the fact that my husband came home from the hospital!

Christmas 2012

Minus the cast! But still on bed rest for several more weeks to make sure his leg heals correctly. Soooo, I have been nurse maid this week. So I have been very wrapped up in caring for him while still juggling the rest of my life. But that is ok, our wedding vows said for better or worse, in sickness and health....  and I take those seriously. So while my week wasn't wrapped up with a bow.....I am very happy my hubby is home! So lets see what Sally has for us next week.!

Knock Knock - Who's There - Week 9

A door opened and I went through it.
                                                          ~Temple Grandin

Let's open some doors to see what awaits us on the other side.

Is it a door that holds opportunity?
A door that holds a story?
Is it a door you have been hesitating to open?
Is a gate to a new life?
A door to a new adventure?
Is it a door that holds a memory?
Is it the perfect door for a simple picture?

You have arrived at the door for a reason, open it up and step in!

As you can see from this week's challenge we were to examine doors.  To me, it means the doors we have opened, gone through, then closed.  Since I am in my 50's something......I have opened and gone through many doors! And closed them. Many were not the doors I should have gone through....but I did, I learned, I closed that door and moved on.

As I think back on those doors there are so many I could choose from, but I think I will use my most current door(s).  In 2011 my husbands diabetes really took him down so that he was unable to work. Then I lost my job. So we took this as a sign for us to move! My parents were in need of me as they were elderly and my mothers health wasn't that great. So we moved out to be close to them and to help out.  That was a door I went though as a dutiful daughter. I haven't closed it yet. At least not all the way, as although my mother recently passed, I still have my father.  Another recent door that I opened...slowly...is my door for stepping out of the box and trying to really promote and get into the jewelry scene.  I haven't quite found my niche, but I am still working on it.  This is a door that will stay open for quite a while.  My newest door is that of wife/nurse as my husband has finally come home from the hospital where he was recuperating from a severely broken ankle with complications due to his diabetes.  He is still on no weight bearing for another 7 weeks. So I will have to be a nurse to him as well as his wife.  This door, as a nurse, will soon close as he heals and I will reopen the purely wife door which is one of the two doors in my life I cherish!  Being a wife to the most wonderful man in the world, and a mother to three awesome kids (and grandmother to two granddaughters) are the best doors I ever opened! They are wide open and will stay wide open til I leave this earthly body and join my family and friends that have gone on to heaven before me.

Thanks for listening....doors are hard to open because unlike windows, you can't see though them. So you never know what is on the other side.  But if you don't chance it, you may never enjoy a part of life that God has assigned to you.

So my advice....Answer the knock, knock!!!!!
